Columbia River Gorge Waterfall Tour
Monday, June 17
9:00 AM–1:00 PM

Join us as we explore the waterfalls, take photographs, and learn about the effects of the Lake Missoula Flood in Northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington. This catastrophic flood propelled over 500 cubic miles of water, ice, rock and mud across eastern Washington, further cut the Columbia River Gorge, covered the Willamette Valley with up to 400 feet of water and left gravel bars a mile wide and hundreds of feet high. In addition, your tour guide will show you many of the signs still visible today. The tour starts along the Historic Columbia River Highway National Scenic Byway. Some of the sites include: Crown Point Vista House, Latourell Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Multnomah Falls, Horse Tail Falls and Bonneville Dam. Tour will depart at 9:00 am from the DoubleTree Hotel Portland. There are optional short hikes to view stunning waterfalls, plants and wildlife. Please dress accordingly and bring a camera. Light concessions are available at the Multnomah Falls stop.

Student Registration

The Student Registration fee includes access to all sessions and exhibits, daily continental breakfast, admission for one to the Student Outing and the President’s Reception. A letter of verification from a department chairman must accompany student registrations. Any student registration received with no verification letter will be processed at the higher nonmember fee.
